TOPIC: How to keep application running on Android

Hi,

I've developed a simple app using Delphi XE7 and MyDAC. The app connects to a database on a private server, reads some info and then sends a sms to an employee.
Everything works fine until the phone is locked or the home button of the phone is pressed. After that the app seems to be inactive. If i unlock the phone or return to the app, is starts working again.
Do you have any idea what the problem might be and how can i resolve it?

This is my first Android app, everything i've done before was Windows targeted.

You may want to program part of the app as a background service. The it will run regardless of what is happening in the UI.
