What is the __recovery folder ?

In C++ Seattle 10 Professional running under Win 7 I now get a folder called "__recovery" appearing in my project directory. This seems to be automatically created by the IDE (or compiler?). What is this folder for? In particular what is "recovering" from what event/activity?

    That folder is used to save temporary, unsaved files in case of a crash. Would the IDE crash, not exit, you'll be prompted to recover those files.

      Hi Marco, Thanks for this. So I can safely delete these files and all contents when I am making a back up of my source code. Excellent.
