The next release of Delphi, C++Builder and RAD Studio is code-named Godzilla, but the official release version is 10.2 and the city looks like Tokyo. While the release is still some time away, we can start having fun now. If you want to play with the technical bits, make sure you are on Update Subscription and join the beta. For a little fun we have a contest to create T-shirt designs. Break out your creativity and artistic skills.
To inspire you here are a few T-Shirts I picked up in Brazil that I like.
When creating your design, a few things to keep in mind is not to use any images which you don't have explicit permission to use. Also, avoid trademarks. For example, Godzilla is a trademark of Toho Studio, so using something that looks like Godzilla, even if it isn't a copyright violation.
Here are a few resources you can use however. The Linux Penguin is available for use (even a sublicense on the trademark). There are penguins images on Pixabay with a free license too.
You don't have to use any of these images though. By creating a submission you authorize the use of your submissions by Embarcadero in any social venue and in the creation of shirts or other merchandise. Prizes include fame and recognition, not to mention free products, gift cards, and more. Stay tuned for additional information and resources.
Submit Your Entry
No Purchase Necessary. Void where prohibited. The Delphi 10.2 T-Shirt Challenge starts on January 19th, 2016 and end on March 31st, 2017. You must be 18 or older to enter and win. You can submit your entry form through the community.embarcadero.com website. The odds of winning will be determined by the number of entries received by the end of day on March 31st, 2017 and the number of votes that each entry receives. Once an entry has been submitted to the contest it may be voted on by other community members. Submitting an entry to the contest explicitly grants permission to Embarcadero Technologies to use your graphic, name and information in social media and other ways. The winners will be notified via email after March 31st, 2017. The winners will have 48 hours to confirm their award via email. If a winner does not respond they will be disqualified and the entry with the next highest number of votes will be chosen. The “new” winner will have 48 hours to confirm their award email and so on. The winners will receive their awards via email. This contest is sponsored by Embarcadero Technologies, Inc. 10801 North Mopac Expressway, Building 1, Suite 100 Austin, TX, 78759.
