Perform Low Code Calculations Using LiveBindings In Delphi FireMonkey On Android And IOS Calculating fields together with LiveBindings in Delphi FireMonkey can be a good low code alternative to writing a bunch of code to do the same. LiveBindings makes it relatively easy to add fields together using it's CustomFormat property. LiveBindings supports a wide variety of operations in the CustomFormat property can you can check out more information about that in the Embarcadero DocWiki. There is a demo with this post that shows how to add three fields together and output the result to a ...

RAD Studio 10.2 Preview in Warsaw, Poland I'm just back from Warsaw, my home city, where I met 90 enthusiastic Delphi and C++Builder developers on the "RAD Studio 10.2 Tokyo Preview" presentation. It is always nice to do the presentation in Polish, and meet friendly faces. As always the event was perfectly organised by BSC Polska, Embarcadero representative for Poland. The queue during the break and after the presentation to ask questions and have a quick chat is always a good sign, that the presentation was well received. Similarly to...

TCalendarView Custom Painting The latest version of RAD Studio 10.1 Berlin Anniversary Edition introduced among other things two brand new VCL controls: TCalendarView and TCalendarPicker. Now there is in total 7 different VCL controls in the "Windows 10" category in the Tool Palette. The best thing about these controls is that they do have Windows 10 look-and-feel, but they are pure VCL, so they do not depend on Windows 10 API and as such can be used for example on Windows 7. I really like to play with them and "TCalendar...
Connecting the new Windows 10 Calendar Controls to data using the LiveBindings Designer Pawel recently did a great post on making the Windows 10 calendar controls database aware. I thought I would follow that up with a post on connecting the new Windows 10 VCL calendar controls to data using the LiveBindings Designer.  In this post, I am going to connect TCalendarView to sample data and enable color changing of the calendar's background color using TColorBox. None of this involves any code as everything is set up using the LiveBindings Designer.

I also wanted to built the app in a low code way so I utilized LiveBindings a bit to do this where it was appropriate. Full source code is l...
