New CData FireDAC drivers It is very exciting time for Delphi and C++Builder developers! Embarcadero just announced partnership with CData to provide the whole suite of new FireDAC drivers that provide connectivity to major APIs and web services. The list of new FireDAC drivers is quite long and includes connectors to over 80 systems, like Amazon DynamoDB, SalesForce, Microsoft Dynamics, Google Big Query and many more. The coolest fact is that the connectivity is provided through FireDAC, which is the best data access f...

Delphi 10.2 "Tokyo" has been released! Great news to all Delphi and C++Builder developers! RAD Studio, Delphi and C++Builder 10.2 "Tokyo" have been released and are now globally available with plenty of new features! It is late evening here in Amsterdam, but I'm excited installing brand new version of RAD Studio into a clean, already prepared Win10 x64 VMWare virtual machine. I think it will last for quite some time! Clearly the biggest new feature in Delphi 10.2 is the capability to build Linux server-side applications. Next week...

Delphi Benelux 2016 Congress I'm just sitting at the break at Delphi Benelux 2016 Congress in Eindhoven in the south of the Netherlands. It is a real Delphi technology fest with three simultaneous tracks (developer productivity, IoT/mobile and Enterprise) with international Delphi expert speakers including Bob Swart, Danny Wind and Stephen Ball. The conference started from the pre-recorded keynote by Embarcadero's General Manager Atanas Popov. Then I had a pleasure of doing the technical keynote part showcasing new and ...

DataSnap "Simple Calculator" REST demo It was so much fun to create one of the "Developer Skills Sprint" sessions last week. During the live Q'n'A session I have promised to make the source code of my DataSnap "Simple Calculator" REST server and client projects available. Here it is! It is now available from the Code Central at http://cc.embarcadero.com/item/29915 A few years ago, back in the Delphi XE time frame, I have created a series of DataSnap "Delphi Labs". The source code of these Delphi Labs has been updated to Delphi...
C++Builder XE6 multi-tier database app with FireDAC JSON Reflection Welcome to The C++ Mobile Day webinar! Right now I'm listening to David I explaining basics of building native mobile apps for Android and iOS from the same C++ codebase with C++Builder XE6. In less than three hours there will be my, prerecorded session "Create C++ Secure Mobile Applications that Work with Enterprise Web Services and Multi-tier Architectures". In this session I'm going to demonstrate how to use C++Builder XE6 to build a multi-tier database application with DataSnap framework....
