On Tour with Delphi and C++Builder XE6 Travelling... It is like with everything in our lives. When it is too much, you start not to like it. When it is too rare, you start to miss it. Human nature. I just like coding in Delphi and C++Builder, and just cannot help it. I like showing off the latest new features. And some existing ones as well:-) The new mantra: one source code and multiple target platforms! And the mantra that stood the challenge: building apps from reusable, visual components that you can manipulate at design ti...

Box2D physics engine in Object Pascal There is plenty of interesting Delphi, Appmethod and FireMonkey information published very frequently on www.fmxexpress.com website. A very interesting article was published on fmxexpress about Box2d Physics Engine For Delphi XE6 FireMonkey on Android, iOS, Windows and OSX a few days ago. You have probably heard about "Angry Birds". It is probably the most easy to remember example of an application that is using Box2D. Box2D is one the most popular, open-source engine for simulating r...

Hit the road, Jack! Go RAD Studio XE3! Blog is very much like a "log". Place to make a note of something that heppened. I like to document here different events that I'm presenting on or at least participating in. Programming events I mean... The more events there is and the more frequent they get, it is more and more difficult to do it in a timely fashion. Today we have done with Stephen and Jon the last Developer Direct live webinar and I have realised that I have not been documenting my live events in the last month or so! The...

C++ Online Learning Resources If You are a Delphi programmer, you probably know about very high coolness factor of FireMonkey. In fact there are many developers out there that has never heard about FireMonkey and Embarcadero and there are big chances that they are familiar with C++. There is a good news for them! They can be productive right away in FireMonkey C++ coding and create native apps for multiple platforms from the same source code! I'm a Delphi programmer, but when I read the C++Builder roadmap information I fe...
RAD Studio in Action LIVE in Olomouc (CZ) and Breukelen (NL) That was a really good week! RAD Studio XE2 is such an incredible release that I keep travelling and showing Delphi and FireMonkey to developers around Europe. On Tuesday, I have been to Olomouc in Moravia in Czech Republic. There were close to 120 enthusiastic Delphi programmers gathered. Everybody liked the new FireMonkey architecture and possibilities for building great looking native apps for Windows, Mac and iOS from the same source code! On Wednesday I had a big pleasure to demon...
Delphi and FireMonkey in Warsaw this week was great! I'm back from Warsaw where I have been presenting Delphi XE2 and FireMonkey to Polish developers. In fact it was the third event in Warsaw about Delphi and FireMonkey since the release of RAD Studio XE2 back in September 2011! That's amazing to watch happy faces of Delphi developers seeing all the great "visually stunning" FireMonkey HD and 3D demos, including excellent "Gallery 3D" components presented a while ago by JT on YouTube. Next week I'm off for one week of skiing in Austria ...

Cultural Anthropology and Web 2.0 Check out this VERY interesting movie Web 2.0 ... The Machine is Us/ing Us by Micheal Wesch, Assistant Professor of Cultural Antropology from Kansas State Univerisity. teaminsight.codegear.com This week I've been watching a lot of Camtasia's related to JBuilder 2007. Just enter "jbuilder.borland.com" into your browser, and click on the "Video Demos" tab to get access to 18 videos grouped in 5 categories. I wish similar page with video resources is also available for other CodeGear products. Why not "delphi.codegear.com" or "cbuilder.codegear.com"? More comprehensive list of JBuilder 2007 videos. is available through CodeGear Developer Network. These camtasias are really useful beca...
