ITDevCon 2012 was great fun! I'm just back home from the ITDevCon 2012 Delphi conference in Verona, Italy. Two days, three simultaneous tracks, all packed with great presentations from international Delphi experts! That was actually my 4th time to participate in this biggest European Delphi event and I was never disappointed - check out for details of past year ITDevCons here: 2011, 2010 and 2009:-) XE3 release of Delphi and RAD Studio is all about "virtually replicating the developer force" however my bi- and tri-lo...

ITDevCon 2012 - European Delphi Conference I'm super excited about upcoming ITDevCon conference! It is going to be my third time to participate in this excellent European Delphi event. It is always very professionally organised and the content is always VERY interesting! The agenda of the event is live at http://www.itdevcon.it/en/agenda. There are three simultaneous tracks conveniently named "TComponent", "TObject" and "TForm". I have two sessions this year: "Delphi XE3 Overview" on Thursday and "FireMonkey 3D Programming with De...
New in XE3: FireMonkey "TPlatform" refactored as a registry of services RAD Studio XE3 is a very solid release to me. There are no new compilers since XE2, but there are many new features plus improvements in performance and architecture. This is quite obvious when looking into source code and refactorings of the second edition of FireMonkey framework, now called "FM2", and originally introduced in RAD Studio XE2 for cross-platform compilation to multiple operating systems. Architecting one framework and one code base for compiling for multiple different operatin...

XE3 World Tour: Gdańsk, Poznań I'm sitting right now in Poznań, Poland, on one of the latest XE3 World Tour events. We have the full room of enthusiastic Delphi and C++Builder developers. Bogdan Polak from BSC Polska is showing right now HTML5 Builder application with custom graphs and is just about to convert it to an Android app using integrated PhoneGap wizard. Cool and fun stuff! There are many, many questions. In depth questions, specific questions, difficult questions, funny questions... Tons of questions and ful...
XE3 World Tour continues: Budapest, Amsterdam, Warsaw, Madrid Last week went very fast. My XE3 Word Tour stops 4,5,6 and 7. I feels like the event in Budapest, last Tuesday, was so long ago. The event in Budapest was very well attended (about 150 developers) in a new and modern conference centre. Tuesday evening I was already back in Amsterdam and the following day, I had the pleasure to present on the XE3 Launch event with David I, Embarcadero VP and Chief Evangelist, who just flew from London, from the XE3 event there. It was so cool, be...

XE3 World Tour: Prague and Bratislava I'm just back from my XE3 World Tour stops nr 2 and 3. On Wednesday in Prague (Czech Republic) I have been showing off all cool new XE3 features in a cinema, on the biggest screen ever. The room was full, there was 227 attendees. It felt like watching a tennis game:-) "Have a look at the Structure view and Object Inspector" - all heads turning to the left... "... and now in the Project Manager" - all heads turning to the right:-) RAD Studio XE3 was very warmly received in Prague including...

My XE3 World Tour started: Brussels I'm in Prague already for the RAD Studio XE3 launch event tomorrow and in Bratislava on Thursday. The kind of energy that Delphi and C++Builder developers emit is incredible! Travelling is tiring, especially when your flights/trains are cancelled and you have to improvize, but you get it back in a big way! In fact RAD Studio XE3 launch today in Brussels was one of the five live events today worldwide in the XE3 World Tour! XE3 is like a big storm and all the audience was so positive and happy...
