RAD Studio 10 "Seattle" on the road... It has been less than a month since the newest RAD Studio, C++Builder and Delphi version 10 "Seattle" have been released. I'm enjoying every single moment using it and also showing the new and improved features to developers in different countries. Back from the first round of events, so sharing photos would be in place. Unfortunately not from every event there are good quality ones, but just few highlights. I was doing keynote at the BIG DELPHI conference in Leiden that attracted many develope...
BeaconFence, Ray Konopka VCL Signature components and other new Delphi stuff There is a lot happening in the Delphi world recently. There are many new components and technologies available for Delphi programmers, many of them are available separately from Delphi, C++Builder and RAD Studio. In fact the list of Delphi "add-on" technologies is growing longer, including AppAnalytics, InterBase,EMS, Ray Konopka Signature VCL Controls, CodeSite and all other components available from inside of the IDE via GetIt. Since the release of RAD St...

RAD Studio in Tel Aviv rocks! Just back from Software Development Conference in Israel. There was probably around 600 attendees gathered in Hilton Tel Aviv hotel. It is always great to meet existing, loyal Delphi developers. They are very happy with the latest versions of RAD Studio. At conferences like this it is also interesting to meet developers new to Delphi and C++Builder. Embarcadero message of "native multi-device development from one source code" resonates very well and developers love the possibility t...
Fast Apps Fast at Android Dev Days in Ankara I'm in sunny Ankara, the capital of Turkey, for the Android Developer Days 2015 conference. Embarcadero has its booth here and I had a pleasure to do two live sessions yesterday to young and happy developers. The first session was about developing "Fast Apps Fast" with Delphi XE8 and it attracted more people that could possibly fit into the presentation room. The second session was about building Delphi XE8 proximity-aware apps with new "TBeacon" component. I like good energy of this conference...
RAD Studio XE8 Launch in Brno today was great! Just sitting at the Prague airport waiting for my flight home after an excellent RAD Studio XE8 launch event in Brno (Czech Republic) today. There was almost one hundred - primarily - male, Delphi, VCL developers gathered to see what's new and hot in XE8. The energy was good and there was a lot of positive feedback around what Embarcadero is doing for Delphi and C++Builder. Obviously the biggest fun was building a Delphi app that is using new "TBeacon" component for proximity awareness! The E...

Photos from last week RAD Studio XE7 events Last week was probably the busiest in my presenting career with four events day after day in four different countries. I have promised to publish some photos, so here they are! Everywhere the reception of the new Delphi XE7, C++Builder XE7 and RAD Studio XE7 was fantastic. Tons of questions and in general developers are happy with the direction where this excellent product is going. Strong VCL support plus a lot of innovation around Multi-Device development with new unified "Multi-Device" proje...
DataSnap "CUSTOMERS" FireDAC JSON Reflection Demo Code My "RAD in Action: Build Modern Apps with Enterprise Mobility Services" webinar is happening right now. During my 50 minutes session I'm demonstrating using DataSnap framework for building multi-tier database application with FireDAC JSON Reflection framework. That's very powerful and very easy to code. During the demo I have illustrated the following best practices: InterBase „EMPLOYEE” sample database FireDAC database access components DataSnap server deployed to a web server ...

DataSnap "Simple Calculator" REST demo It was so much fun to create one of the "Developer Skills Sprint" sessions last week. During the live Q'n'A session I have promised to make the source code of my DataSnap "Simple Calculator" REST server and client projects available. Here it is! It is now available from the Code Central at http://cc.embarcadero.com/item/29915 A few years ago, back in the Delphi XE time frame, I have created a series of DataSnap "Delphi Labs". The source code of these Delphi Labs has been updated to Delphi...
