Five Ways You Can Easily Kick-start Your Internet Of Things Development RAD Studio offers IoT functionality and connectivity through a number of different protocols and components. You can integrate your IoT devices using Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy. You can talk to beacons and create a proximity fencing solution with BeaconFence. You can track and measure how often your apps are used using Embarcadero® AppAnalytics. You can easily connect your apps together via App Tethering over Bluetooh and Wifi. And finally you can connect to over 50 different IoT devices...
Proximity Sensors Made Simple With BeaconFence In RAD Studio On Android And iOS BeaconFence is a developer proximity solution that delivers precise “GPS-Free” indoor/outdoor user location tracking and events with radial and geometric zones for any physical location and layout. Visually draw the layout of the physical location and beacon placement to track location information down to inches. Create radial and rectangular zones and track intersections, enters, and exits with callback events. BeaconFence enables developers to take proximity beacons to the next level by adding...
Building Proximity Apps with RAD Studio Last week I had a pleasure of doing remote online presentation about building proximity-enabled mobile apps with Delphi and RAD Studio for Delphi developers gathered at the Delphi Developer Days 2016 in Poland. Here are some notes, links and demos from this presentation. Our smartphones are hardly phones anymore. They are in fact powerful, multi-purpose sensor centres that James Bond a few decades ago could have only dreamt about. If you think about it your phone has not only speakers...
IoTデバイスから取得したデータを Google Spreadsheet に流し込んでリアルタイム処理してみる   * This blog is written in Japanese for about "Real-time data analytics from IoT device with Google Spreadsheet". Sample movies on youtube are below.
June 16 Webinar - RAD Server Application Deep Dive - Creating a Department Store Retail Solution During this webinar you'll learn how to develop and deploy a real world Department Store Retail application using Embarcadero RAD Server. The client app runs on smartphones and the server side executes on IIS production servers on premises and on Amazon. The content covered on this webinar goes deeper technically into the department store solution that was first presented as part of the RAD Server Launch Webinar on Thursday, May 19, 2016. The app allows customers to look up price and desc...
Development Examples of Real World Beacon Applications At my opening keynote last week for the Australian Developer Day in Sydney Australia, I talked about the Internet of Things (IoT) along with business and developer opportunities that are available today and will continue for years to come.  I showed the Gartner Group reports and other research that shows that IoT and IoT platforms are in today's business cross hairs. I talked about how the IoT business opportunity value-add will be $1.9 billion by 2020. Some of the industry areas where...
Join me at CodeRage for my session on the RAD Solution Pack CodeRage X starts tomorrow. The theme for this year’s CodeRage conference is “Develop Anything, Anytime, Anywhere”. The conference will cover development topics for the Delphi Object Pascal and C++ programming languages. Sessions about Windows 10 development using VCL, Multi-Device development using FireMonkey, the Internet of Things, Proximity app development using Beacons, Cloud Services, Enterprise Data and Programming Tips, Tricks and Techniques will be covered. The conference will have two live stream developer tracks – one for Object Pascal and one for C++. I will be doing a session on the RAD Solution Pack tomorrow. You can register for CodeRage X at http://forms.embarcadero.com/CodeRageXRegistration.

I want to build a BeaconFence I'm not a software developer, but after seeing BeaconFence in action I'd like to learn.   My background is design, business and marketing, and amazingly BeaconFence embodies each of these areas. There is a real design element to creating a map and layout of a floor plan and then seeing it in scale in your IDE. Defining the ultimate beacon locations to create zones and paths is pure design zen. Through BeaconFence I can see incredible opportunity for a ...
