My CodeRage7 Delphi FireMonkey 3D session and demos source code In this very moment my CodeRage7 "FireMonkey 3D Programming in Delphi XE3" session is being presented. I have promised in the recording to make the demo source code available for download and publish the URL here, so... Here we go! All demos of my CodeRage7 Delphi XE3 FireMonkey3D session are available for download from Embarcadero CodeCentral. There are five demo projects in the download: "LowLevel3D" is a modified version of XE3 "HelloWorld3D" project. The refactorings include mov...

ITDevCon 2012 was great fun! I'm just back home from the ITDevCon 2012 Delphi conference in Verona, Italy. Two days, three simultaneous tracks, all packed with great presentations from international Delphi experts! That was actually my 4th time to participate in this biggest European Delphi event and I was never disappointed - check out for details of past year ITDevCons here: 2011, 2010 and 2009:-) XE3 release of Delphi and RAD Studio is all about "virtually replicating the developer force" however my bi- and tri-lo...
Join me for "RAD in Action: FireMonkey FM2 Ready for Multi-platform Business" webinar tomorrow, Oct 24th! I feel very privileged! Tomorrow at three different time slots I'm going to present online my "RAD in Action" webinar "FireMonkey FM2 Ready for Multiplatform Business"! It lasts for about 65 minutes and is all about live demonstrations of using Delphi XE3 and C++Builder XE3 for creating different kinds of business applications with FireMonkey FM2. There are three demos that I'm building from scratch live plus a whitepaper and code samples. In the first step by step demo I'm building a native ...

31 XE3 quick videos in 31 days - Oct18 - FireMonkey 2 MaterialSource Components In RAD Studio XE3 and FireMonkey 2, a new context shader creates and defines FireMonkey filters, materials and context for 3D objects. The new FMX.Types3D.TTexture class replaces the use of bitmap textures. This class uses GPU memory to store real data. TTexture is a limited class, but offers support for textures with different pixel formats, behavior and styles. The new material system is based only on shaders, and allows an unlimited variation of lighting and materials in one application. Th...

DirectX 10 in FireMonkey 2.0 You’ve possibly already heard the new version of FireMonkey in RAD Studio XE3 has a support for DirectX 10. At the first glance one can think of the part of FireMonkey (FM), which provides 3D object rendering, and this is not typical functionality in business applications. But I can note the part of FM2 providing the access to GPU by TContext3D and TContextManager classes is used not only for rendering of 3D objects. Bitmap-effects is 99% based on GPU usage, so only 2…3 basic effects have a real...
