Want more...Time

Posted by on in Blogs
We each have a finite amount of time on this planet.  I'm sure that you all want to enjoy every moment of every day, I do!  Groucho Marx said, "Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana." John F. Kennedy said, "We must use time as a tool, not as a crutch". The Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones wrote the song, "Time Waits for No One." The Rolling Stones also recorded the song "Time Is on My Side".

There are many quotes involving time, the lack of time, wanting more time, and enjoying time.  Here are several fun sites with quotes about time:

Using productive development environments, leveraging extensible component libraries, programming with high speed native code compilers, writing unit tests, designing objects with UML, designing databases with data modeling, refactoring code, running audits and metrics, and automating your build and deployment tool chains will save you loads of time.

With the extra time you gain by using great developer tools, tool chains, and IDEs you might choose to:

  • Spend more time with your family and friends

  • Learn new skills

  • Exercise

  • Enjoy your hobbies

  • Volunteer at a non-profit organization

  • Mentor a child

  • Meditate

  • Read more books

  • Catch up on email and phone calls

  • Sleep

  • Add more features to your software projects

  • Socialize with friends

When you find yourself with extra time, what do you do with it?
