James Gosling seeks to extinguish scripting languages comment "flamewar"

I guess we all have to watch out what we say about things that people care about. A few weeks ago, James Gosling, the father of the Java programming language, was quoted from an Sys-Con TV interview saying, "Java Is Under No Serious Threat From PHP, Ruby or C#". His comments immediately sparked an Internet flamewar. This week, Sys-Con TV has a follow up piece where Gosling "Seeks to Extinguish" the Scripting Flamewar. I love it. Maybe I'll get flamed for blogging about the whole affair?

Along the way another article appeared, Java vs Dynamic Languages, "Sun's James Gosling Didn't Get The Memo," says Blogger Ryan Tomayko and the debate will go on and on. The great thing about programming languages is that there are lots of them

I took glance at the first url in your list "The programming language list"... of course I looked up Delphi... seems the list is many years out-of-date.
