FireUI Live Preview for Mobile Development

Posted by on in Blogs

RAD Studio, Delphi and C++Builder continue to come out with new features that totally revolutionize the way we develop software, and once I start using them I wonder how I ever worked with out them. Delphi introduced Rapid Application Development that we know and love. Recently with the IDE Insight it made it so much easier to navigate in the IDE, especially for those of us who love using the keyboard. Just in Berlin Update 2 we see QuickEdits, another huge productivity booster.
I'd like to go into a little detail on FireUI, especially the Live Preview functionality that came in Berlin.
The platform services makes the components and styles smart for each platform you are running on. This makes it easy to target everything from Android watches to the iPad and macOS with a single user interface that looks great everywhere. This level of productivity isn't seen with any of the platform vendor tools, even across their own platforms, let along across all the different platforms that FireMonkey supports.
You can design your UI once, and then give it the tweaks it needs for perfection on each platform.
LivePreview then lets you view the real user interface on the physical target devices. You can even interact with the controls and see what the styles look like.

There is no Fire UI Live Preview app on Google Play...

    Hi Jim,

I've researched a lot regarding FireUI Live Preview but no avail yet in the internet. Support is not much these days for FireUI (sorry to say that). I am taking my chances here!

I have installed FireUI App Preview on both my Android and iOS devices. I am using mac with virtual machine on Parallel Desktop. Already activated FireUI broadcast in my RAD Studio. Setup my virtual machine on the Wifi(Bridged). I got the correct IP Address for connection.

But still cannot get preview access from my devices. Even on my Mac and Windows FireUI nothing at all.

I just need a quick advise if FireUI Live or App Preview really works? or you need some more tweaks to finally release these. So I can start to look other options. FireUI is so promising but if it needs further updates or improvements please let me know.

Other thing, does my router has something to do with the connection??

Taking my chances... quick advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks!

    Hi Jim,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am still in trouble connecting with FireUI on my devices iPhones and Androids.

I am using Mac with Parallel Desktop Wifi(Bridged). I am not so sure if this has something to do with my wifi router. Because during late night when no one is connected to internet, the FireUI works. But that sounds weird to me because why it has something to do with the bandwidth??

    Here's the scenario:

I ran FireUI Live Preview in my devices and no scanned device is being picked up. So I clicked the advance and indicate the IPAddress which I got from my Windows cmd:ipconfig. Remember that I setup connection using Wifi(Bridged) as indicated in the instructions.

I downloaded the app 'FireUI App Preview' from appstore for iOS and google play for android. For my mac took it from the files along with RAD installation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Cheers!

    Hi Jim,
I've been following your posts. But wondering if you can help me with this.
My fireUI in RAD Studio is not sychronizing with my devices properly. Already checked and confirmed connection but in some ways its behaving otherwise.

I am using Mac with Parallel Desktop for my virtual windows. I used wifi(bridge) as well. I have no issue with connection. I already check the ping of my devices and it looks good.

Is there anything I am missing in the setup or should I do some troubleshooting here.

    I will appreciate any help.

    Thanks & cheers!

That sounds right. Is it synchronizing at all?

    No. Not exactly synchronizing time.
But after checking now and it comes okey already.
Thanks for replying to my message.
    I'll be in touch.
