FireMonkey and iOS 5.1

Posted by on in Blogs
I finally upgraded to Lion and Xcode 4.3. Also iOS 5.1 on my iPhone 4.

I can happily confirm that FireMonkey apps work great on iOS 5.1 devices.

I already had Snow Leopard and Xcode 4.2 before. All it took was upgrading to Lion and then getting Xcode 4.3. That's it. I did not have to reinstall FPC or FMI at all.

Good to know! I hadn't updated iOS yet because was not sure.

By the way: update 4 looks great! Memo scrolling is 10x better and looks very native!

I had Snow Leopard and Xcode 4.2 as well as FPC 2.6 and FMI already installed. I upgraded to Lion and installed Xcode 4.3. I didn't have to do anything else. I haven't tested any other scenario either.

    Yes, all works nice,

I installed 4.3.1 and did the mistake to say delete old :(
Had to reinstall xcode 3..2.6 and install sdk again the install firemonkey files then all worked again

All seems to work better now with XE2 update 4 and FPC 2.6

    I installed xcode 4.3.2 to Lion 10.7.3. (XE2 update 3)
fpc ok but could not install firemonkey.
Reinstalling iOS sdk 4.3 using xcode 3..2.6_and_ios_sdk from connect.apple.com failed.

So removed Xcode 4.3.2 and installed 4.2 version.
    Everything is ok.

if you have a Firemonkey install that works you can install 4.3.2 as a friend of mine did and he still run it. Don't say yes to remove OLD.... :)

I'm running 4.3.1 and he is running 4.3.2.

I messed up my laptop and run 4.3.1 on my desktop without having to go through extra steps because i learned from the mistake. I was with my friend during the install, and he did apple store 4.3.2 and i was there when it asked to delete old and, lucky i was there, told him to say no and hes works.

The 4.31. and 4.3.2 seems to have some bugs shutting down a lot so im hoping the get a new one out soon. lol It shut down as bad a the MAC dev with PA server :)

Also i seen that you need to run Firemonkey mac install 2 times for it to install it fails first time succeed second time.

No go for me. Was advised to upgrade to 4.3 because my app doesn't display correctly on new ipad. How come everyone can display ok with an older xcode then? Wasted too much time on this. Frustrating. Restored Developer folder from trashcan but getting errors all the time when running my app.

What kind of errors are you getting? What OS (Lion or Snowleopard)?

Fixed now, added the 5.1 sdk from the 4.3 xcode and all is well. (Lion)

I too have been experiencing a problem installing FireMonkey. Am using XCode 4.2 Build 4C199. Installed Update 4 then copied across FireMonkey-iOS.dmg file dated 2012/02/17 to my Mac running 10.6.8. Have installed fpc 2.6 ok but keep getting failure when trying to install FireMonkey-iOS-XE2-macosx.pkg.
